While cancer survival rates continue to improve, side effects remain a significant issue, physically, mentally, and emotionally. There is a large unmet need to address problems associated with side effects of both chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Eisana is an oncology solution company providing a platform for multiple products to address cancer treatment issues. Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy is common (30-40% of all chemotherapy patients), debilitating, and often not reversible, dramatically lowering quality of life and increasing healthcare costs.
Hair loss is rated the most distressing side effect of chemotherapy so much so that up to 8% of patients will refuse life-saving chemotherapy because of it.
Peripheral neuropathy has several causes, including chemotherapy. Electrical stimulation seems promising to reduce pain and increase quality of life, but the technology in current products is 25 years old.
